Despina and Natalie met each other working on creative projects in lifestyle photography and retail spaces. They often spoken about their love for colour and how it has a huge effect on our wellbeing, our comfort and how spaces can change our energy for good. After a trip to Bruton in the Autumn of 2023 they decided to create Etté and share their passion and expertise with a wider audience.

About Despina

London-based Style Director Despina Curtis is an interior styling and spatial design expert with a reputation for considered and imaginative design. Inspired by era-defining art and architecture movements, from Bauhaus to brutalism, Despina creates original visual stories and immersive spaces that are simultaneously aspirational yet accessible, impactful yet coherent.

The former Style Editor of Elle Decoration UK and later Deputy Interiors Editor of Wallpaper* magazine then established her own creative practice to share her extensive experience and vast design knowledge, collaborating with select brands and editorial titles across the globe.

Working in the UK, Europe and North America, Despina has conceptualised and executed a variety of permanent spaces and installations, from commercial photoshoots, to exhibition and event design to store, bar and restaurant interiors.

About Natalie

Natalie’s early career moves include assisting in interiors and styling for Wallpaper*, Livingetc and ELLE Decoration and trends research and consultancy at The Future Laboratory before moving on to become Senior Project Manager at Winkreative. Here, Natalie managed global accounts including Francesc Macia 10, a premium property development in Barcelona and Begg & Co, the luxury Scottish cashmere company. 

In 2015, Natalie made the move from London to Bruton in Somerset where she founded Caro, a design brand for life and home, B&B and events space for workshops and a studio for photoshoots.
